(This is the part that gets the opens.)\n[ your take… ]\n———\nHere is a real one you can run this week 👇\nPer Glossy, luxury brands are closing smaller locations and investing more capital in their flagship stores, a trend accelerated by unrest in France that forced temporary closures.\nHere's the cool part — the lever almost everyone misses (and you don't have to): if you operate in a category with strong brand identity (luxury, premium, niche CPG), store count is not the goal — store *quality* is. Consolidate your retail footprint to the locations that drive the most revenue per square foot and have the highest brand visibility. Close the mid-tier stores. Reinvest the savings into the flagships. This math works at any scale: a small beauty brand might have 3 locations instead of 8, but those 3 become destinations. Measure revenue per square foot before you open any new store. If it's below your median, don't open it. Close the bottom 10% of locations by that metric every year.\nWhat that means for you: Luxury is doing what should happen across retail: they're admitting that more stores doesn't equal more revenue, and that maintaining a weak store in a weak location is a drain on brand equity. The unrest in France just accelerated a decision they were already making. For a small brand, this is permission to *not* expand everywhere. Concentration in the right places is worth more than scatter.\nIf you make, sell, or gift anything with your name on it — this is yours to run. You can do this.\n(Real, not theory — Glossy: https://www.glossy.co/fashion/luxury/luxury-briefing-prada-kering-hermes-store-strategy/?utm_campaign=glossydis&utm_medium=rss&utm_source=general-rss.)\n———\nOr — want it built FOR you?
