(This is the part that gets the opens.)\n[ your take… ]\n———\nHere is a real one you can run this week 👇\nTuna brand StarKist consolidated its marketing at Tombras to better position itself as a ready-to-eat protein and explore more culturally tapped-in ways to deploy its mascot Charlie.\nHere's the cool part — the lever almost everyone misses (and you don't have to): reposition your legacy product into an adjacent category where margins and perception are higher. Canned tuna is a commodity; ready-to-eat protein is a growing category. Use a single agency or creative partner to lock the character into the new positioning across all touchpoints. Do not let multiple agencies interpret the same mascot differently. Consolidate first, then redeploy the character into the new category narrative (on-the-go, fitness, convenience). Measure brand lift in the new category, not category penetration in the old one.\nWhat that means for you: A lot of legacy brands are stuck in old positioning because they're trapped by competing agency narratives. StarKist did the smart move: one throat to choke, one story to tell. The positioning shift (commodity to convenience) is the real move; the agency consolidation just enables it.\nIf you make, sell, or gift anything with your name on it — this is yours to run. You can do this.\n(Real, not theory — Marketing Dive: https://www.marketingdive.com/news/why-starkist-chose-to-consolidate-its-marketing-at-one-agency/827873/.)\n———\nOr — want it built FOR you?
