JOHCM moved **£900M** EM equity strategy into Irish UCITS, chasing **€1.2T** European platform flow as allocators rotate back to frontier exposure.

J O Hambro Capital Management registered its JOHCM Emerging Markets Fund as an Irish-domiciled UCITS this month, extending a £900 million London-listed strategy into the European retail and institutional channel. The fund replicates the firm's existing EM equity mandate, which has run since 2013 under lead manager James Syme. Dublin domicile and UCITS passport mean the product now clears for French assurance-vie wrappers, German Spezialfonds, and Swiss private banks that cannot hold non-harmonized offshore vehicles.
The timing reflects two market realities. European allocators have been underweight emerging markets since the Federal Reserve's hiking cycle began in March 2022, but rotation signals appeared in January 2025 as the dollar softened and Chinese stimulus rumors circulated. JOHCM's parent, Affiliated Managers Group, reported $8.3 billion in net inflows across international equity strategies in Q4 2024, the largest quarterly haul since 2021. The UCITS wrapper allows JOHCM to capture that flow without building separate research infrastructure—Syme's existing book already holds 127 positions across 23 countries, weighted toward India, Taiwan, and Brazil.
The second reality is regulatory. MiFID II and PRIIPs rules make it expensive for European wealth platforms to offer non-UCITS funds to retail clients. By moving the strategy into an Irish shell, JOHCM sidesteps Key Information Document requirements and gains access to platforms like Allfunds, FundInfo, and Calastone, which together route €1.2 trillion in European mutual-fund subscriptions. The fund charges 0.75% annual management fee, in line with iShares MSCI Emerging Markets UCITS ETF but below active peers like JPMorgan Emerging Markets Equity, which runs at 0.95%. Performance history transfers: the London version returned 11.2% annualized since inception, trailing MSCI Emerging Markets Index by 80 basis points but with 14% lower volatility.
Allocators should watch three follow-on events. First, whether JOHCM files for German BaFin approval by March, which would unlock €400 billion in Spezialfonds AUM currently restricted to UCITS-only mandates. Second, whether the firm registers a complementary frontier-markets UCITS by June—Syme has publicly discussed Vietnam and Bangladesh exposure, but those markets require separate compliance shells under UCITS diversification rules. Third, whether Affiliated Managers consolidates other JOHCM strategies into UCITS wrappers; the firm runs $45 billion globally, but only $12 billion currently sits in European-compatible vehicles.
The fund began trading on Euronext Dublin on January 27. Share class documentation lists three currency hedges—EUR, CHF, GBP—which means JOHCM expects Swiss and UK wealth managers to use this as a core EM allocation, not a satellite position.

For the principal
UCITS wrapper means your European wealth platform can now allocate to JOHCM EM without PRIIPs friction; watch for frontier follow-on by June.
For the operator
Syme's book trails MSCI EM by 80bps but runs 14% less volatility; three currency hedges suggest this targets core allocation, not satellite exposure.
For the house
We hold Affiliated Managers in Growth sleeve; UCITS expansion likely accelerates European inflows and compresses fee drag across the EM complex.

Your next customer won't visit your website. Their AI will.
AI assistants have quietly taken over the first step of buying — they answer from catalogs they can read and shortlist whoever can actually ship. Two questions now decide whether you exist to that buyer: can a machine read your catalog, and can you fulfill the order. Most brands fail one or both and never find out why the orders went elsewhere. The winners of this shift aren't the loudest. They're the most readable. Build for the machine that's about to do the shopping.
Built by the craft floor — apparel, media, packaging, and secure print.
This trade runs on hands, not desks. Imprint manufacturing & Komori heritage press through approved vendors · Canon high-speed secure-media operations is a craft floor — genuine Six Sigma discipline applied to ink, thread, foil, and registration, where a hundredth of an inch is the difference between a brand that reads serious and one that reads cheap. POPS4 is built by exactly those operators: independent, boots-on-the-ground engineers who carry their own book, read a client in microseconds, and put their name on every run. Beyond our own Virginia Beach floor, we work with a vetted network of craft manufacturers across the US — each meeting the highest excellence in QC standards in the industry, each a specialist in its own discipline — so apparel, hard-goods imprinting, media manufacturing, packaging, and secure printing all go to the bench built for them, coordinated from one accountable hub. Short-run from twenty-five units, volume to five hundred thousand. Two hundred authorized national brands, seventy thousand SKUs with virtual proofing on every one. Art archived for instant reorders. Net-thirty corporate terms, NDA-standard white-label — your name on the work, or none at all.
Strategy, positioning, identity, creative, and messaging — wired into an AI system that publishes and distributes on its own. Nine editorial desks generate the authority, the production house ships the physical proof, and the attribution layer tells you which post sold which SKU. What you get is an operating layer — content, catalog, and order path under one roof — that keeps working whether or not you are in the room. Built for principals who would rather own the machine than rent the agency.
