Accenture Song acquired creator agency Whalar and social commerce shop Superdigital in separate transactions announced within 48 hours this week, the fastest dual-acquisition tempo the consulting firm's marketing arm has executed since forming in 2022. Neither deal disclosed terms. Industry sources with direct knowledge of Whalar's financials estimate the transaction in the $40 million to $60 million range based on the agency's $28 million trailing twelve-month revenue and 180-person headcount across London, New York, and Los Angeles.
Whalar brings 2,400 creator relationships and a client roster including Unilever, PepsiCo, and Samsung—brands that have steadily shifted spend from traditional media buying into performance-driven influencer campaigns. Superdigital, a 35-person Buenos Aires-based studio, specializes in shoppable video production for TikTok Shop and Instagram Reels commerce integrations. Accenture Song now controls end-to-end workflow from creator casting through checkout attribution, a capability the Big Four consultancies have chased for 18 months as creator marketing eclipsed $30 billion in global spend in 2024.
The twin deals expose the structural tension inside holding companies that built empires on 15 percent media commissions and fixed retainer fees. Whalar operates on performance windows—brands pay when creators deliver measurable conversions within 72-hour campaign cycles. That velocity breaks the quarterly planning calendars WPP and Publicis still run. Accenture Song, unburdened by legacy media-buying relationships, can embed Whalar's creator marketplace directly into its enterprise software implementations. A chief marketing officer at a $12 billion consumer packaged goods company can now hire Accenture to rebuild their entire demand-generation stack with creator content as the default format, not the experimental line item.
The timing matters more than the price. TikTok Shop processed $4.4 billion in US gross merchandise value in Q4 2024, triple the year-prior quarter, according to Sensor Tower data. Instagram launched affiliate commission tracking for 500,000 creators in November. YouTube expanded Shopping integrations to 35 additional markets in January. The infrastructure for direct creator-to-transaction finally exists at platform scale. Whalar's 2,400 creator relationships become distribution endpoints Accenture can activate across consulting engagements worth $500,000 to $8 million per client. Superdigital's shoppable video templates turn those relationships into revenue within the same fiscal quarter.
Operators should watch whether Accenture integrates Whalar into its Adobe and Salesforce partnership practices by mid-2025. If the firm bundles creator campaign management into its $1.2 billion annual Adobe Experience Cloud implementation business, expect WPP and Omnicom to accelerate their own creator acquisitions before Q3. The market for independent creator agencies with $15 million to $50 million in revenue and proprietary talent rosters will likely tighten by summer as the remaining Big Four consultancies—Deloitte Digital, PwC, and EY—fill the same capability gap.
Accenture Song now runs 940 active client engagements across 35 countries with creator or social commerce components, up from 480 engagements 12 months ago, according to internal metrics the firm shared with prospective hires in December.
