Accenture Song announced the acquisitions of creator agency Whalar and influencer shop Superdigital within 24 hours this week, marking the first time a Big Four consultancy has moved twice on the creator economy in a single news cycle. Terms were not disclosed. Whalar, a London-based social and creator agency with 250 employees across six markets, is being described by Accenture as the industry's largest creator-economy transaction by headcount and client roster. Superdigital, a Los Angeles-based influencer agency with 75 employees, followed hours later. Both agencies remain operationally intact under their founding leadership.
The sequential timing is not coincidence. Accenture Song has been building creator and social infrastructure since 2022, when it acquired Storm Digital and began embedding influencer strategy into enterprise client engagements. Whalar brings a 10-year relationship history with platforms including TikTok, Meta, and YouTube, plus a creator management arm representing 500+ talent across beauty, gaming, and lifestyle verticals. Superdigital adds U.S. consumer-packaged-goods depth, with clients including PepsiCo, Unilever, and Procter & Gamble already running seven-figure influencer programs through the agency. Accenture Song now controls creator-to-campaign execution at a scale no independent agency can match without comparable balance-sheet backing.
The dual acquisition reflects a structural shift in how Fortune 500 marketing budgets are allocated. Creator and influencer spending is migrating from experimental digital line items into core media plans, which means procurement, compliance, and cross-channel attribution requirements now apply. Independent agencies struggle with the reporting infrastructure and insurance coverage that enterprise clients require for contracts above $5 million annually. Accenture Song solves that by integrating creator campaigns into its Adobe, Salesforce, and Google Cloud tooling, making influencer ROI visible alongside paid search and programmatic display. The company already operates 100+ experience and commerce studios globally; adding Whalar and Superdigital's creator networks turns those studios into end-to-end content production environments where brand, commerce, and influence are planned in the same room.
Watch for Publicis Groupe, WPP, and Omnicom to accelerate their own creator-economy M&A before the end of Q2 2025. Publicis has been quiet since acquiring Influential in 2023. WPP has moved on talent management but not yet on full-service creator agencies. Omnicom's Omnicom Advertising Group restructured in late 2024 to house influencer capabilities under a single P&L, which typically precedes acquisition activity. Independent creator agencies with $20 million+ in annual revenue and multi-platform tooling should expect inbound calls from corporate development teams within 90 days. The valuation floor just moved.
Accenture Song reports $8 billion in annual revenue across its experience, commerce, and marketing divisions. The company does not break out creator or social revenue separately, but industry observers estimate influencer-related services now represent 12-15% of its digital marketing book, up from single digits two years ago.
